One of my all time favorite movies is Shawshank Redemption. Not exactly a family movie, but a great movie!
One of my favorite quotes from the movie is:
Get busy livin’ or get busy dyin’.
In a Christ following life, you have to do both. You have to die of yourself to truly live for God.
There is no gray line. You cannot sort of die of yourself and sort of live for God. To truly follow Christ it will cost you everything, even you.
Are you willing to pay that fee?
The Fee of Me?
It is not easy, but it is the only way.
Get busy dyin’ and get busy livin’!

Growing up, we used to play baseball and football in a field behind my house. There were telephone poles, wires, electrical boxes, etc, all over the field. They were great to run into! When we would hit a baseball or throw a football and it would hit one of hose poles or wires, we would scream interference! Do Over! We would simply act as though that play never happened and do it again. A do over. It didn’t always go as smoothly as I just explained, but you get the point.
In life, there are no do overs. This is it. What are you doing with your life?
There was a time you were not and there will be a time when you are not.
No do overs.

Duane
Interesting.
Proverbs 24:26
- Giving an honest answer is a sign of true friendship. CEV
- An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. TNIV
How sweet is that! A friend asks you a question and you give them an honest answer. It is like sweet nectar! Like a kiss of friendship. Very simple.
A recent conversation with one of my best friends (male) and he spoke of a male friend of his that every once in a while as they embraced he would kiss his cheek.
Weird or Wow?
- If - An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
- Then - Is a dishonest answer is like a smack on the face?
Honesty vs. Dishonesty
Do your friends feel kissed or smacked?
There is no gray line.

This might be Mark on Sunday when we tube!

Money woes?
Dug yourself a hole?
What if you made twice as much money? Would you have a lot less to worry about, or would the hole you have dug for yourself be twice as deep?
Thank God today for where you are financially and start climbing out of the hole. Too daunting of a task?
I have a simple statement I tell people and try to remember for myself.
God has done greater things than (fill in the blank):
- fix my money woes
- Heal my marriage
- Heal this broken relationship
- etc.
It is time to tell your money whoa instead of allowing it to run free. Put some reins on it.
Financial Peace University starts March 2nd at our church and probably at a church near you.
Stop Digging and start climbing out of the hole.

Duane
