There he stood alone on the shelf.
I picked him up and had to take him home.
Our family laughed. (Loudly) Other shoppers in the aisle stared and some laughed at our laughter.
The cashier said, (her face was priceless) ”this nutcracker is missing something; we will get you a different one”.
“No!” We quickly replied. “We like him that way.”
We tried him with hair from his beard that fell off, but he wasn’t the same.
Through Christmas and all future Christmases, he will sit in the center of our family room.
Ever heard or said, how can God love me?
I am, am not, can, can not, will, will not, _________________________________________ …
I don’t know all the answers, but He created us, He loves us and commands that we love others. Even our enemies.

“I like your short shorts, Dad”, laughed my 14 year old son.
“What!?!?!” I replied and stood. “They are not short! Barely over my knees!”
“That is short for today”, he laughed.
I wear those shorts and black socks to mow the grass!
Reminds me, when I was 16, my mom gave my favorite pair of jeans to our neighbor. They put them on THEIR SCARECROW!
You see, my jeans had holes all over them, and mom (and her generation) didn’t understand.
By the way, I made the holes on my jeans!
(Inserting my generational comment) —-> Who buys preholed jeans?
This generation is different, but…
True story. I went to our neighbor’s house and took my jeans off that scarecrow and wore them that night. The straw was a little itchy, and no crows landed on or near me

Some recent encounters with technology…
- Received a phone call I never thought I would receive
- Made a phone call I never thought I would make
- Prayed with someone miles away
- An email said I won $800,000.00! (If I sent them the processing fee first.)
- Received a virus; via email
- Received email that made me excited for a new friend
- Spent hours on my first video call
- Received a text message that made me cry tears of joy
- Made a phone call to a friend telling them how excited I was for their decision to make the right choice
Recent text message…
“I won’t miss this waiting part”
If we are not anxiously waiting on God, maybe we aren’t asking God for anything that is only God capable.
I am waiting on God in several areas of my life.

- faithfulness
- etc
We make (bring into existence) excuses.
- Well I would…if
- You don’t know what he/she did…
- If I had a better job…
- If I made more money…
- If I worked less…
- Etc.
God made.

In his image, we are made.
We have the ability to make. Why do we often waste our making on excuses?
